Located in Somerset County in New Jersey is Hillsborough Township, home to over 38,000 residents. It is rated by Money magazine as the 16th best place to live in the US and 3rd on the list in New Jersey.
The township’s origins date back to 1771 when it was created by Royal charter. In 1798 Hillsborough was incorporated as one of New Jersey’s original townships. Hillsborough is part of the path that General Washington traveled with his troops from the Battle of Princeton to Morristown during the winter.

Parks & Recreation
Hillsborough Parks and Recreation manages the main park in town, which is Ann Van Middlesworth Park. It contains baseball fields, a skate park, 1-Mile of unpaved trails, basketball courts, picnic area with shelter, and a fishing pond.
The students of Hillsborough Township are served by the Hillsborough Township School District. The district manages 9 schools, which include Triangle Elementary School, Road Elementary School, Hillsborough Elementary School, Sunnymead Elementary School, Amsterdam Elementary School, Woodfern Elementary School, Woods Auten Road Intermediate School, Hillsborough Middle School, and Hillsborough High School.
